Applications may be submitted starting on November 1 for entry the following Fall semester, January 16 for the following Winter semester, and February 1 for the following Summer semester. Early application is strongly recommended.

Admission Advice  

1. It is strongly advised that you have access to a personal computer at home with Internet access, both with adequate resources for this level of study. You may consult the Computer Science Department for hardware and software specifications.

English Language Requirements

Summary

If English is not your first language, you must submit one of the following (minimum scores):

  • A TOEFL score of 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), or 79 (internet based)
  • An academic IELTS overall band score of 6.5
  • A Okanagan College English Language Assessment (OCELA) of 6
  • 70% in each of ELSE 060, ESLW 061 and ESLR 062 for admission to a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, Business Administration diploma, Commercial Aviation Diploma or Advance Culinary Arts diploma
  • 60% in each of ELSE 060, ESLW 061 and ESLR 062 for admission to Arts, Science, Computer Information Systems, and Engineering Technology programs
  • 70% in English 12 or equivalent for Business programs
  • 60% in English 12 or equivalent for Arts, Science, Engineering Technology, and most diploma programs
  • 50% in an English literature or composition course at a recognized university or college in Canada
  • Level 5 on the Language Proficiency Index for Business or Level 4 for Arts, Science, technology and most diploma programs
  • A degree or diploma from an accredited institution where English is the language of instruction

Block Transfer within OC

Graduates of the Computer Information Systems Diploma may obtain up to 60 credits within OC's Bachelor of Computer Information Systems Degree.

Graduates may also enter OC's Bachelor of Business Administration Bridging program which bridges into OC's Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. Contact an educational advisor or program faculty for complete details.

Final Note: Minimum grade point average and other requirements may apply. All transfer requirements should be confirmed with advising personnel within the institution.

Inter-Institutional Block Arrangements

Introductory Note: Normally one year of academic study is made up of 30 credits.

Graduates of the Computer Information Systems Diploma may pursue the following transfer opportunities:

  • up to 30 credits within the Bachelor of Arts Degree - TRU-OL
  • up to 60 credits within the Bachelor of General Studies Degree - TRU-OL

As well, advanced standing may also be possible within TRU-OL's Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. An individual assessment is required.
