  • CAEL score of at least 70 with no sub score less than 60 (within the last two years)
  • PTE score of at least 61 (within the last two years)
  • LPI score of at least level 5 with an essay score of 30 or higher (within the last two years)
Non-Academic 
  • attend an orientation and portfolio review session. (Alternative portfolio arrangements are possible for students who live outside the Greater Vancouver Region and who cannot attend in person. However, it is in your best interests to make every effort to attend.)
  • preference will be given for prior fashion retail experience

Admission Advice

1. Applicants will receive an invitation to the required orientation and portfolio session to take place in late March or late April.

2. When your portfolio is submitted it must include:
  • resume;
  • 750 word statement of interest in the fashion program and fashion industry;
  • two letters of reference - one academic and one personal or professional
  • two pieces of art or design work
  • one or two sketchbooks
  • two sewn garments

English is the primary language of study at KPU. Therefore, all applicants must be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of English language proficiency for their undergraduate, vocational or preparatory area of study. English requirements can be found here.

Mature Student

At KPU, we proudly welcome students of all walks and ages. If you have not graduated from High School, have taken fewer than 24 post-secondary credits, and are 19 years of age or older, we can admit you as a mature student. International Student

Kwantlen Polytechnic University accepts applications from international students who meet the English Proficiency Requirement. All international undergraduate applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency prior to admission.
