Admission Advice

1. First-year Science courses have the following prerequisites:
  • Direct entry into first-year Calculus (MATH 1112) requires at Principles of Math 12 (C) or Pre-calculus 12 (C); or Principles of Math 11 (B) or Pre-calculus 11 (B); or a Mathematics Placement Test; or one of MATH 1102 (C), MATQ 1099 (B-), MATQ 1093 (C), MATH 1117 (C)
  • Direct entry into first-year Physics (PHYS 1120) requires at least PHYS 1100 or Principles of Physics 12 (C)
  • Direct entry into first-year Chemistry (CHEM 1110) requires at least CHEM 1105 or Chemistry 12 (C+) and the Math prerequistes
  • Direct entry into first-year Biology (BIOL 1110) - there is no prerequisite for first-year Biology (BIOL 1110), however the completion of Biology 11 and 12 offers a strong preparation.

2. KPU offers appropriate upgrading courses if you are missing any prerequisites for the Science program.

At KPU, we proudly welcome students of all walks and ages. If you have not graduated from High School, have taken fewer than 24 post-secondary credits, and are 19 years of age or older, we can admit you as a mature student. International Student

Kwantlen Polytechnic University accepts applications from international students who meet the English Proficiency Requirement. All international undergraduate applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency prior to admission.

Inter-Institutional Block Arrangements

Courses completed within the diploma may transfer on an individual basis to SFU, UBC, UVic and UNBC.
