1) Program Admission Requirements

  • PCP Certificate
  • JIBC ENGL 1100 or equivalent (C)
  • JIBC BIOL 2203 or equivalent (C)
  • JIBC HLSC 2214 or equivalent (C)
  • JIBC HLSC 2215 or equivalent (C)
  • JIBC HLSC 2216 or equivalent (C)
  • JIBC CRES 1150 or equivalent


  • one year of PCP work experience
  • IV Insertion Training Certificate
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification
  • a Criminal Record Check
  • current immunizations

Admission Advice

1. Candidates who have met all of the above requirements will be required to attend a Candidate Assessment Day and complete two assessments elements:

  • Medical Knowledge Test
  • Panel Interview

Applicants also have to satisfy JIBC's institution admission requirements as listed below.

English Language Requirements


One of the following (minimum score):

  • A C grade in English 12 or English Literature 12 or Technical and Professional Communications 12
  • A B grade in Communications 12
  • A TOEFL score of 560 (paper based), 220 (computer based) or 83 (internet based)
  • An IELTS score of 6.5
  • A LPI score of 4
  • A GED Language Arts Writing and Reading score of 450
  • Completion of an Adult Basic Education English course equivalent to DVST 0355 or higher
  • A grade of 3 or C in Advance Placement (AP) English Language or Literature
  • A grade of 6 or C in International Baccalaureate English Level A (higher level)
  • An undergraduate degree from an English speaking post-secondary institution
  • Other equivalents may be considered by the registrar
