  • be at least 18 years old before the first day of classes
  • not have received a Grade 12 graduation certificate from any institution


2) Institution Admission Requirements

Applicants also have to satisfy Coquitlam's institution admission requirements as listed below.

English Language Requirements

If English is not your first language, you must have one of the following for direct entry (minimum score):

  • IBT of 86 or 230 computer based score
  • TOEFL score of at least 570 (paper based score) or 230 (computer based score)
  • CAEL score of at least 60
  • IELTS score of at least 6.5
  • Successful completion of the Coquitlam College English Diagnostic Test.

General Admission Requirements (All Students)

1. Completion of an accredited high school program.

2. You must have proficiency in English at a level suitable for your desired program.

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)

To enter the university transfer program, you must have a high school diploma or school completion certificate.
You must also have fluency in English or have achieved the minimum results on the English proficiency tests.
