1) Program Admission Requirements

Academic

1. High school graduation or equivalent.

2. The following courses with a B average and no grade lower than a C+ in any course:

  • English 12 or equivalent course
  • Foundations of Math 12, or Pre-Calculus 12 or equivalent course
  • Physics 12 or equivalent course
  • Biology 12 or equivalent course

Non-Academic

  • submit a "Completed Self-Report" on the appropriate form
  • participate in a program information session (delivered face-to-face or electronically)
  • complete an interview
  • complete a Medical Radiography Technology career investigation and tour

  • have current immunizations
  • provide documentation of CPR Certificate level C or Health Care Provider (HCP) certification
  • Criminal Record Check

Admission Advice

1. It is highly recommended that entrance courses have been completed in the last six years.

2. All students will be selected for admission using the following criteria:

  • the cumulative grade point average of the required English, Biology, Chemistry and Math courses = up to 4 points (for example, a CGPA of 3.2 = 3.2 points)
  • completion of 30 credits or more at the post-secondary level (or 1-year equivalency) = 2 points, or prorate points for less than 30 credits
  • participating in a program information session = 1 point
  • submit a "Completed Self-Report" = 1 point
  • Residing in BC or the Yukon = 1 point
  • Persistent interest in the program, as shown by repeated qualified applications = 1 point

    Total point from the above criteria determines short-list for interview:

  • Interview and a completed “Medical Radiography Technology Career Investigation” = up to 5 points

    Total possible points = 15

Applicants also have to satisfy CNC's institution admission requirements as listed below.

English Language Requirements

Summary

Completion of English 12 or English 12 First Peoples (or equivalent) 

If your first language is not English, one of the following is required (minimum score):                 

  • A TOEFL score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 80 (IBT)
  • An IELTS score of 6.0, with no band less than 5.5
  • Completion of Level 4 English for Academic Purposes at CNC

  • graduation from a BC Secondary School; or
  • completion of a BC Adult Graduation Diploma; or
  • completion of the General Education Development (GED) tests; or
  • completion of the Adult Basic Education (ABE) Advanced Certificate
