Academic

Route A

  • completed CNC's Administrative Assistant or Office Assistant Certificate in the last five years. (Applicants with older certificates should contact the Mackenzie Campus to discuss admission exemptions.)
OR

Route B

Applicants without an appropriate certificate will need the following courses:

  • ABTC 060 - Computers and the Internet OR ABTW 073 - Microcomputer Applications I or equivalent
  • ABTC 066 - Keyboarding II or a keyboarding speed of at least 45 net words per minute
  • ABTC 070 - Word Processing I and ABTC 071 - Word Processing II OR ABTW 043 - Word Processing/Document Production Levels I, II and III
  • ABTC 080 - Business Math and Calculators or equivalent
  • ABTC 085 - Business English OR ABTE 074 - Business Communications 1 or equivalent

Admission Advice

1. If you have an Applied Business Technology, Office or Administrative Assistant certificate from another institution you must submit transcripts with your application for potential admission exemptions.

2. If you have relevant office experience in the last two years, you may contact the Mackenzie Campus to discuss potential admission exemptions.

3. Applicants without an online certificate will need to complete ABTC 050 before entering or as part of the program.

English Language Requirements

Summary

Completion of English 12

If your first language is not English, one of the following is required (minimum score):                 

  • A TOEFL score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 80 (IBT)
  • An IELTS score of 6.0
  • Completion of Level 4 English for Academic Purposes at CNC

General Admission Requirements (All Students)

  • completion of a BC Adult Graduation Diploma; or
  • completion of the General Education Development (GED) tests; or
  • completion of the Adult Basic Education (ABE) Advanced Certificate
