Application Deadline Advice

Applications for programs that start the following Fall are accepted from mid-September to March 31. Applications for the Winter entry should be received by October 31. Early application is recommended to ensure priority admissions processing and review.

Application Fee: $40

Academic

1. One of:

  • Grade 12 with English 12, or English 12 First Peoples, or Communications 12 or Technical and Professional Communications 12
  • ABE/CCP Advanced Certificate
  • General Education Development (GED) Certificate

2. Math

One of:

  • Foundations of Math 11
  • Pre-calculus 11
  • MATH 042
  • MATH 044
  • MATH 045
  • or equivalent
Admission Advice

1. It's strongly recommended that you have completed the following courses (within the past five years), or have a strong working knowledge of the course content:

  • Typing 11 (with a keyboarding speed of at least 20 words per minute)
  • Computer Science 11 or 12
  • Data Processing 11 or 12

2. When there are too many applicants for the number of seats, the following criteria will be used to select half the class:

  • completion of the Math requirement with at least a "B" grade is worth two points;
  • completion of a secondary or post-secondary computer course featuring at least 25 hours of instruction in the last three years is worth one point per course, to a maximum of two points.

English Language Requirements

Summary

Completion of English 12 or English 12 First Peoples (or equivalent) 

If your first language is not English, one of the following is required (minimum score):                 

  • A TOEFL score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 80 (IBT)
  • An IELTS score of 6.0, with no band less than 5.5
  • Completion of Level 4 English for Academic Purposes at CNC

If you have completed courses at other post-secondary institutions, you may request these credits be transferred to CNC. An official transcript from each institution at which the courses were taken must accompany your transfer credit request.
