Admission Advice

1. English proficiency is required for all students entering CMTN programs.  Please visit the English Language Alternatives page to see how this requirement can be met using the equivalent of English Studies 12 (click on domestic or international language requirements). 

2. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called course prerequisites) which are listed in the course descriptions within the program outline. Prerequisite = Course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. Course prerequisites in this program include:

  • Pre-calculus 12 or MATH 115 or MATH 0501/0502 or equivalent 
  • Life Sciences 11, or Biology 11 or BIOL 040 or equivalent
  • Chemistry 11 or CHEM 040 or CHEM 0401/0402 or equivalent
  • Physics 11 or PHYS 040 or equivalent

Note: You can be admitted without these courses but will be required to upgrade in order to complete the program. 

3. If you do not have the prerequisites for the courses you wish to take, you have the option of taking upgrading courses along with selected university credit courses at Coast Mountain College.

CMTN admits applicants with any level of education. However, you will also have to meet any admission requirements of your intended program. For instance many CMTN programs have entrance requirements that include proof of secondary school graduation and/ or completion of secondary school courses.
