1) Program Admission Requirements

Academic

1. English

One of:

  • English Studies 12
  • English First Peoples 12
  • ENGL 050
  • ENGL 055
  • Equivalent


2. Meet the prerequisites for individual courses (includes a Math 11)

Non-Academic

  • resume and a written statement outlining career goals and reasons for seeking entry to the program
  • two letters of reference from an employer, volunteer supervisor, teacher or human service professional, attesting to your personal suitability for work in human services
  • documentation of at least 45 hours of satisfactory work or volunteer experience in a human service agency related to the training program (within the last three years) 
  • Criminal Record Check

Admission Advice
1. Grade 12 high school graduation is recommended. 

2. Admission to this program is on a course-by-course basis.  Applicants to this program must meet the prerequisites for the individual courses in which they wish to enroll.  

3. If you do not have the prerequisites for the courses you wish to take, it's possible to upgrade by taking Career and College Preparation courses along with selected university credit courses.

4. If you are unsure of the courses needed for program entry and/or for course registration, contact a CMTN Educational Advisor. Advisors are available to help you access and navigate the courses/programs of interest to you.

English Language Requirements

Summary

If English is not your first language, you must have a TOEFL score of at least 220 (CBT), 83 (IBT), or 560 (PBT)

CMTN admits applicants with any level of education. However, you will also have to meet any admission requirements of your intended program. For instance many CMTN programs have entrance requirements that include proof of secondary school graduation and/ or completion of secondary school courses.

To have courses from other institutions evaluated for transfer credit at CMTN you must submit an Transfer Credit Request Form along with official transcripts from each institution attended. For more information about transferring credit, contact a CMTN educational advisor and review their website.

Out-of-Province Transfer Student

You must meet the admission requirements of your intended program.
