4. Medical experience or education

  • at least a "C+" grade in a Camosun College's Medical Terminology course or another institution's Medical Terminology course involving at least 60 hours of instruction or
  • at least a "C" grade in a Human Biology course (eg- Biology 12 or BIOL 103) or
  • at least six months of paid or volunteer experience in a health care field (eg-registered nursing, licensed practical nursing)
Non-Academic
  • submit proof of a keyboarding speed of 40 net words per minute. The test must be completed within six months of application and be from a recognized organization. The test must display gross words, timing and errors.
  • a TB test is mandatory. This must be done within three months of the start date.
  • maintaining current immunizations are highly recommended
  • submit a current Criminal Record Check for the first day of classes

English Language Requirements

Students may meet the English proficiency requirement with one or more of the following alternatives.

International students should contact Camosun International to learn about your options towards direct entry into our programs.

  • LPI score of 5 or higher
  • IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with:
    • minimum of 6.5 in Reading and Writing
    • minimum of 6.0 in Listening and Speaking
  • TOEFL scores:
    • iBT 88-90 (min 20 in each section)
    • CB 230 (min 4.5 TWE)
    • PB 570 (min 4.5 TWE)
  • Camosun English assessment

English Language Requirement: You must have proficiency in English at a level suitable for your desired program.

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)

Current BC/Yukon high school student can apply for provisional admission between September 15 and May 15, please check here for special high school admission process
