Admission Advice

1. If you have studied English as a Second Language (ESL) for two years or less you may take the ESL Placement Test at the School of Access Office located on the Interurban Campus. To do so, contact eldregistration@camosun.ca  or 250.370.4951.

2. If you have studied ESL longer than two years you can contact the Assessment Centre on the Lansdowne Campus to arrange an assessment. To do so, contact assessment@camosun.ca or 250.370.3597.

English Language Requirements

Students may meet the English proficiency requirement with one or more of the following alternatives.

International students should contact Camosun International to learn about your options towards direct entry into our programs.

  • LPI score of 5 or higher
  • IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with:
    • minimum of 6.5 in Reading and Writing
    • minimum of 6.0 in Listening and Speaking
  • TOEFL scores:
    • iBT 88-90 (min 20 in each section)
    • CB 230 (min 4.5 TWE)
    • PB 570 (min 4.5 TWE)
  • Camosun English assessment

 

General Admission Requirements (All Students)

English Language Requirement: You must have proficiency in English at a level suitable for your desired program.

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)

Current BC/Yukon high school student can apply for provisional admission between September 15 and May 15, please check here for special high school admission process

If you are a secondary school graduate you are eligible for general admission to Camosun. You must also meet the specific admission requirements of your intended program. (These admission requirements are detailed within the program listings for Camosun within Education Planner.)

BC Transfer Student

If you possess Grade 12 graduation from any recognized institution you are eligible for general admission to Camosun. You must also meet specific admission requirements for your intended program. (These admission requirements are detailed in the program listings for Camosun in Education Planner.)

If you have completed post-secondary studies at another institution and wish to gain transfer credit* please see the Transfer Credit web page.
