Application Deadline Advice

The application window is open from September 5 to December 15. The deadline for admission requirements is February 28.

Application Fee: $40.20

The program is a partnership with the University of Victoria, with a common admission process being established. The admission process consists of two stages. Application is competitive.

Stage 1:

Academic (minimum grade needed in bracket)

1. High school graduation

  • ENGL 091 and ENGL 093 (73%)

3. Math

One of:

  • Foundations of Math 11 (73%)
  • Pre-calculus 11 (73%)

One of:

  • Chemistry 11 and Chemistry 12 (73%) or CHEM 110 (73%)

5. Biology

One of:

Stage 2:
  • Select applicants will be invited to attend a multiple mini interview.

Qualified applicants must:

  • submit a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray. Hepatitis B and flu vaccinations are highly recommended;
  • have yearly respirator mask "fit-testing" done (and any associated costs);
  • have current Standard First Aid Certification including CPR Level C to advance to the second semester;
  • successfully complete a criminal record check through Camosun;

Admission Advice

1. The work environment of a registered nurse requires demanding lifting and moving techniques and extensive hand washing. If you have back, neck or arm injuries or serious skin disorders (eg - psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis or latex allergy) please carefully weigh such factors before applying.

2. If you have significant health challenges you should consult with the Program Chair.

English Language Requirements

Students may meet the English proficiency requirement with one or more of the following alternatives.

International students should contact Camosun International to learn about your options towards direct entry into our programs.

  • LPI score of 5 or higher
  • IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with:
    • minimum of 6.5 in Reading and Writing
    • minimum of 6.0 in Listening and Speaking
  • TOEFL scores:
    • iBT 88-90 (min 20 in each section)
    • CB 230 (min 4.5 TWE)
    • PB 570 (min 4.5 TWE)
  • Camosun English assessment

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)
