  • Tuition Estimate

    International students

    A $1000 non-refundable, non-transferable commitment fee is due upon acceptance to the program.

    Your tuition for first term is $9000.*

    The balance of the tuition, total minus the commitment fee is $8000 and due 60 days prior to the start of the program.

    Domestic students

    A $200 non-refundable, non-transferable commitment fee is due upon acceptance.

    Your tuition for first term is $3200.*

    The balance of tuition, total minus the commitment fee is $3000 and due 60 days prior to the start of the program.

    *Please note: Tuition is charged each term on a course by course basis and will vary depending on your English placement and course selection. Courses for international students are charged at 2.5 times the domestic rate.

    Other anticipated expenditures during your studies are:

    • Local Transportation: approximately $100/month
    • Textbooks: approximately $1,200/program
    • Medical Insurance: approximately $750/year

    Living expenses, tuition fees, textbooks, supplies, lab fees and medical insurance costs are the responsibility of the student.

1) Program Admission Requirements

Entrance requirements

Applicants must meet all entrance requirements and will be accepted on a first qualified basis as long as space remains.

* International students attending an English as a Second Language school in British Columbia should contact the BMS program head.

Note: A valid study permit is required for international students and must be submitted in person to the International Student Centre prior to start of classes.

2) Institution Admission Requirements

Applicants also have to satisfy BCIT's institution admission requirements as listed below.

General Admission Requirements (All Students)

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)

You will need to meet the specific admission requirements of your intended program. Most programs require Grade 12 graduation with specific Grade 11 and 12 courses. Some programs also have non-academic requirements such as submitting a resume or participating in an interview.

Application priority is given to BC residents who are Canadian citizens and landed immigrants who have lived in BC for the 12 months immediately before enrolment. Second priority is given to out-of-province citizens and landed immigrants. Third priority is given to applicants who are neither Canadian citizens nor landed immigrants.

Mature Student

If you have not graduated from secondary school you can still be admitted to BCIT based on your relevant experience.

To gain Mature student status, you must also meet BCIT's English-language requirements as well as any prerequisites for your desired program.
