Description

Bakers are responsible for the production of all baked foods. This includes the preparation of bread, rolls, muffins, pies, pastries, cakes and cookies for retail and wholesale bakeries and restaurants.

The program combines technical and work-based training. It is normally completed over three years.

The technical training is offered in three levels. Each level is made up of four weeks (120 hours) for a total of 360 hours. This block of training is normally delivered through an ITA approved training institution. Sometimes it may also be met through approved training models (distance education, part-time) and/or a level challenge exam.
