1) Program Admission Requirements

Academic (minimum grade)
1. Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited university.

2. English Language Proficiency

One of:

  • IELTS = overall 6.5, with no band less than 6.0 (written within the last 24 months)
  • TOEFL internet-based = overall 84, including at least 21 in Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking (written within the last 24 months)


Admission Advice

1. It is recommended that you have the following:

  • A strong foundation in mathematics and English.
  • Motivated and disciplined.
  • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experienced in word processing and use of spreadsheets

2. Seats are offered to applicants who have met all admission requirements, on a first-qualified, first-served basis.

There are three types of requirements that applicants to VCC need to meet:

  • General requirements (completion of high school or be at least 16 years of age)
  • English language proficiency requirements

BC Transfer Student

Students transferring between post-secondary institutions in BC may refer to the BC Transfer Guide to search course transferability.

If you have completed some post-secondary education at another institution, you can possibly earn transfer credits toward your program at VCC. Students are responsible for initiating the transfer credit process by submitting a formal request (an Approval for Transfer Credit form) to Registrar's Office attaching all required documents. 

Out-of-Province Transfer Student

If you have completed some post-secondary education at another institution, you can possibly earn transfer credits toward your program at VCC. Mature Student

You must be at least 18 years old (unless you have graduated from Secondary School) to meet the general admission requirement for VCC. In addition, specific program admission requirements must also be met.
