Admission Advice

1. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within VCC’s course description. For course registration and program completion purposes, you will need to meet the prerequisites for individual Arts and/or Science courses in the program. (For example: in order to be eligible to take ECON 1100, you need to have Pre-calculus 11 or equivalent successfully completed).

General Admission Requirements (All Students)

English Language Requirement - Applicants must have proficiency in English at a level suitable for their desired program.

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)

You must meet the admission requirements of your intended program before your name is added to a waitlist or registered in a program.

BC Transfer Student

Students transfering between post-secondary institutions in B.C. may refer to the BC Transfer Guide to find program transfer credits or BC Articulation Handbook for entrance requirement equivalencies.

If you have prior post-secondary education that you want to transfer to VCC, you must make a formal request through the Registrar's Office by completing an Approval for Transfer Credit form and attaching all required documents. For more information call 604.871.7000.

Mature Student

You must be at least 18 years old (unless you have graduated from Secondary School) to meet the general admission requirement for VCC. In addition, specific program admission requirements must also be met.
