Academic (minimum grade in bracket)

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. Human Biology 12 (C+) or equivalent

3. One of:

  • Chemistry 11 (C+) or equivalent
  • Pre-Calculus 11 (C+) or Foundations of Math 11 (C+) or equivalent
  • Physics 11 (C+) or equivalent 

4. English Language Proficiency Requirement

One of:

  • English 12 (C+)
  • other acceptable equivalent English Language Proficiency for Dental Technology Sciences

Non-Academic

Admission Advice

1. Admission to the program is on a competitive selection basis.

2. All qualified candidates will take aptitude tests and participate in an interview. The applicants with the highest scores will be offered a seat in the program.

3. If you have:

  • back, hand or shoulder problems, you may be affected by the physical demands of the profession;
  • respiratory problems, you may be affected by dust from grinding and polishing, and/or ordours and fumes from materials used;
  • sensitive skin and conditions such as sensitivity to latex, you may be affected by some materials used in the dental laboratory practice.

4. All requests for transfer credit or course exemptions must be submitted with the application.

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)

You must meet the admission requirements of your intended program before your name is added to a waitlist or registered in a program.

BC Transfer Student

Students transfering between post-secondary institutions in B.C. may refer to the BC Transfer Guide to find program transfer credits or BC Articulation Handbook for entrance requirement equivalencies.

If you have prior post-secondary education that you want to transfer to VCC, you must make a formal request through the Registrar's Office by completing an Approval for Transfer Credit form and attaching all required documents. For more information call 604.871.7000.

Mature Student

You must be at least 18 years old (unless you have graduated from Secondary School) to meet the general admission requirement for VCC. In addition, specific program admission requirements must also be met.
