1. In addition to the program admission requirements, there are also prerequisites for each course that are listed within the course description. For program completion purpose, check course prerequisites before registering individual courses.
2. Students usually declare a major before the beginning of their third year of courses. You must meet the following specific lower-level requirements before declaring a major in Economics:

All candidates are assigned a Major Program Advisor. You are encouraged to meet with an advisor to ensure that you select the appropriate courses in order to qualify for program major declaration.
3. Foundation of Mathematics 11 or higher is strongly recommended if you are planning to pursue an Education degree or a major in Geography and Environmental Studies, Sociology, or Psychology.
4. If you do not meet the admission and/or course prerequisites, you may begin your first-year university study by taking University Preparation courses to to get started. Please contact TRU's student recruiter to discuss about your options.

If you have completed some post-secondary studies at another institution, you can possibly earn transfer credits toward your program at TRU-Campus. Please refer to TRU's Transfer Credit web page. The BC Transfer Guide allows you to check on the transferability of your courses taken at another BC post-secondary institution.
Once you apply to TRU, and submit your official transcripts, you will be automatically assessed for transfer credit.

For admission purpose, mature students are defined as any applicant of at least 19 years of age who has not graduated from high school. Students classified as mature may have the grade-level admission requirement waived, for example grade 11, grade 12, etc., but they are still required to meet a program’s other admission requirements and all course pre-requisites.
