Academic (minimum grade)
1. Placement on the ACCUPLACER Entry Assessment Test for English at an 0600 level (Grade 12)
2. Placement on the ACCUPLACER Entry Assessment Test for Math at an 0600 level (Grade 12)
Non-Academic
1. Supply your own approved safety glasses, work boots, gloves, and hard hat
2. Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status

Applicants also have to satisfy TRU's institution admission requirements as listed below.
English Language Requirements
If your first language is not English and wish to enter academic programs without attending ESL courses, you must provide one of the following (minimum scores):
- TOEFL iBT = score of 88 overall, with no section below 20
- TOEFL paper-based = 570 overall, with a 4.5 on the TWE (Test of Written English)
- TOEFL computer based = 230 overall, with 4.5 on Essay
- IELTS = score of 6.5, with no bands below 6.0
- MELAB = score of 81
- CanTEST = score of 4.5 with no component below 4.0
- CAEL = score of 70, with no subset below 60
- Duolingo = score of 110 (accepted on a temporary basis, applicable to applications received before August 31, 2022)

TRU programs generally require BC high school graduation or equivalent. Exceptions to this requirement are shown in the program admission requirements.
You may have the equivalent of BC high school graduation if you have completed:
- the BC Adult Graduation (Adult Dogwood) diploma, or
- the General Education Diploma (GED)
BC Secondary School (or equivalent)
You must meet the program-specific admission requirements of your intended program. To qualify for admission to the Bachelor of Business/Arts/Science degree program, you will need to have completed BC Grade 12 (or equivalent).

Out-of-Province

BC Transfer Student
If you have completed some post-secondary studies at another institution, you can possibly earn transfer credits toward your program at TRU-Campus. Please refer to TRU's Transfer Credit web page. The BC Transfer Guide allows you to check on the transferability of your courses taken at another BC post-secondary institution.
Once you apply to TRU, and submit your official transcripts, you will be automatically assessed for transfer credit.
Out-of-Province Transfer Student

Mature Student
For admission purpose, mature students are defined as any applicant of at least 19 years of age who has not graduated from high school. Students classified as mature may have the grade-level admission requirement waived, for example grade 11, grade 12, etc., but they are still required to meet a program’s other admission requirements and all course pre-requisites.

Your technical and work-based training hours acquired from the Electrical - Construction Foundation Certificate program will be counted towards your next step in training as an apprentice.
