If English is not your first language, you must provide one of the following (minimum scores) for entry to Selkirk College University-Transfer, Diploma or Degree programs:

• English 12 or equivalent
• A "C+" grade in advanced core courses in the Selkirk College English Language Program and Provincial Level English 51
• TOEFL iBT = overall score of 80
• IELTS = overall score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 5.5
• Language Proficiency Index (LPI) = score of 4
• Duolingo English Test (DET) = score of 110 (equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall); or score of 105 (equivalent to IELTS 6.0); note: DET scores are accepted on a temporary basis when in-person testing services are not available

Post Graduate Diploma programs and a few other programs have a higher English Language Proficiency requirement (6.5 IELTS).

If you have completed some post-secondary studies at another institution, you can possibly earn transfer credits toward your current program at Selkirk College. To receive transfer credit, you must submit an official transcript with your Application for Admission or Readmission along with a Transfer Credit Request form.
