1) Program Admission Requirements


Completion of BC Secondary School Diploma with the following courses:
  1. English 12 or English 12 First Peoples
  2. Principles of Math 12 or Foundations of Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12
  3. Two other approved Grade 12 courses from Group A or B*
  4. English 11
  5. A language 11
  6. Math 11
  7. A Grade 11 science course
  8. A Grade 11 social science course
  • two letters of recommendation are required

2. If you are currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary school one of the letters of recommendation must be written by a teacher/instructor or counselor. If you have been out of school for several years a recommendation from an employer may be substituted. All letters of recommendation should be written on letterhead stationery and submitted to the Admissions Office either directly by your reference or in sealed envelopes

3. If you have been enrolled in an academic program at a regional accredited college or university for at least two years on a full-time basis there is no need to submit secondary school transcripts. However, you will need to submit college or university transcripts.

4. SAT or ACT scores are NOT required for admission consideration. However, applicants may be eligible for a higher scholarship award if they score high on one of these assessments. For more information, please contact an academic advisor.

5. Students with any of the following may be eligible for transfer credit:

  • College Board Advanced Placement courses;
  • International Baccalaureate exams;
  • GCE-A level courses;
  • course work from another university.

English Language Requirements

An applicant whose native language is not English is required to meet the University's English Language Requirements.

For undergraduate degree programs, applicants whose first language is not English or those who have not completed two years of high school, college or university in English must meet one of the following minimum scores:

  • TOEFL PBT: 550 or higher
  • TOEFL CBT: 230 or higher
  • TOEFL iBT: 79
  • IELTS: 6.0 overall band score
  • SAT (Critical Reading):  420
  • CAE: C
  • FCE: B
  • STEP Eiken: Grade 1
  • MELAB: 77
  • CAE:L 65
  • CanTEST: 4.0

  • Students from Canada, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand do not need to submit test scores.
  • An applicant who has previously attended a high school, college or university in Canada or the United States for more than two years and have earned passing grades in English courses may be exempt from an English proficiency exam.
