1) Program Admission Requirements

Academic (minimum grade)

  1. High school graduation or equivalent
  2. English Language Requirement
  3. A vocational/technical/polytechnic diploma with a 60% or higher average, or a mature student status

Admission Advice

  • If you do not have any of the listed English Language Requirement scores, you may be required to write the Coquitlam College English Proficiency Test for University Transfer/Associate Degree placement. Coquitlam College's English Proficiency Test dates can be found online, or contact their main office for more information.
  • A preparatory semester or semesters of English Studies may be required to qualify for the University Transfer Program.

English Language Requirements

If English is not your first language, you must have one of the following for direct entry (minimum score):

  • TOEFL IBT of 86 or 230 computer based score
  • A TOEFL score of at least 570 (paper based score) or 230 (computer based score)
  • A CAEL score of at least 60
  • A minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS with 6.0 on the writing component
  • An overall score of 60 on PTE with 60 on the writing component
  • OR, a Duolingo English Test with a score of 90-104 and 105 and above
