Application Deadline Advice

The College processes applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be processed upon receipt and students will be notified usually within two weeks. Successful applicants will be issued a letter of acceptance. Contact 604.683.8360 or admin@columbiacollege.ca for application procedure details

Program Options

This program is an option of High School Programs (Grades 10, 11 & 12).

Application Fee: $200

Academic

1. Secondary School Grade 10 or 11 with a 55% average on most recent year's academic subjects.

Non-Academic

1. Be at least 18 years of age

English Language Requirements

Summary

One of the following (minimum score):

  • Write the Columbia College Language and Writing Assessment (LWA)
  • A C- grade in Communications 12 for enrolment in Writing 099 or a C grade for enrolment in English 100
  • 50% with a provincial exam in English 12 for enrolment in English 100 or 67% with a provincial exam for enrolment in English 101
  • 55% without a provincial exam in English 12 for enrolment in English 100 or 70% with a provincial exam for enrolment in English 101
  • Minimum required scores in a first year English course taken at another BC university or college
  • A minimum score on the IELTS, CAEL, LPI, LWA, MELAB, TOEFL CBT, TOEFL PBT, TOEFL iBT. Students with a lower level of English will have to enrol in non-credit English courses.

Mature Student

For General Admission requirements to Columbia College check here.

If you are at least 19 years old it is possible to complete Columbia's Adult Secondary Graduation Diploma. Graduates may then enter the University Transfer Program at Columbia before proceeding to university.

 

International Student

Applicants for University Transfer Program at Columbia College must have high school graduation (or the equivalent of British Columbia Grade 12 graduation) with a satisfactory average on academic Grade 12 subjects.
