English Language Requirements

English proficiency for admission to most programs at Camosun College requires English 12 (C+) or equivalent. 

Students may meet the English proficiency requirement with one or more of the following alternatives.

Note(*): Duolingo English Test (DET) score of 105 is for General Admission to most Certificate and Diploma programs, and Bachelor of Business Administration programs (exceptions: Nursing and certain other Health-related programs). Score of 115 is for admission to Post-Degree programs (all majors) and Degree programs offered by Centre for Sport and Exercise Education.

Each program has individual admissions requirements. To be considered for admission, you must meet or exceed the requirements for your chosen program. You must also meet the English proficiency requirement at a level suitable for your desired program. If you are a secondary school graduate or a mature student (19 years or older), you are eligible for general admission to Camosun College and can apply anytime. You must also meet the specific admission requirements of your intended program. If you have completed post-secondary studies at another institution and wish to gain transfer credit*, please refer to Camosun's Transfer Credit web page. The transfer credit evaluation process involves a form, a fee, and sealed, official transcripts.
