1) Program Admission Requirements

Academic (minimum grade)
1. Meet UNBC admission requirements with a minimum 70% average.
2. English 12 (70%) or equivalent
3. One of:

4. Chemistry 11 (70%) or equivalent
5. Anatomy and Physiology 12 (73%) or equivalent

Note: Please see UNBC nursing admission requirements there may be more academic courses needed. 

Admission Advice
1. This is a collaboration program with UNBC. 
2. To meet admission requirements, students in grade 12 may submit expected final grades for courses in progress.
3. To meet admission requirements, students completing upgrading courses can submit interim grades once they are 50% through the course. 
4. If English is not your first language, regardless of citizenship or country of origin, you must provide evidence of English language proficiency prior to admission.
  • Fulfillment of the BC Secondary School English Studies 12 requirements (70%) or equivalent, and 
  • Either an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic or CELBAN (Canadian English Language Assessment for Nurses) with current, valid results and scores as set by British Columbia College in Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) for the year of admission.

BC Transfer Student

You must meet the academic requirements of your intended program (detailed in the program admission requirements section of CNC program profiles in the EducationPlannerBC Search Database).

If you have completed courses at other post-secondary institutions, you may request these credits be transferred to CNC. An official transcript from each institution at which the courses were taken must accompany your transfer credit request. For more information on transfer credit, check here.

Mature Student

Candidates who have not graduated from the BC high school system or equivalent, and who are at least 19 years of age, may be able to gain entry to CNC as a Mature student. Applicants in this category are still required to meet a program’s other admission requirements and all course prerequisites.
