Important Notice for International students and students on limited timelines.
Prior to submitting a program declaration, international students and those on limited timelines (e.g. with student loans or limited sponsorship) must first contact the department directly at cstpts@bcit.ca to receive a signed Course Planning Document, which they will be required to attach to their online declaration.
Entrance Requirements
Prerequisites:
All students
CSC students must have a strong command of English and Math at a BC high school Grade 12 level or equivalent.
Students require communication and interpersonal skills for significant group work, research, writing technical reports, and making team presentations.
Please consider upgrading with MATH 0001 prior to starting the program if you do not have recent higher math skills; Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry.
Domestic Students
Students taking 1-2 courses per term must first complete “Applied Software Development (ASD)” and “Applied Computer Information Systems (ACIS)” Associate Certificates prior to starting the CSC. ASD and ACIS may be complete simultaneously with 1 course from each per term, only choosing the electives which apply to CSC.
Please Note: CSC requires a minimum of 2 years of study, with a maximum of 5 years to complete.

If you have not graduated from secondary school you may still be admitted to BCIT based on your relevant experience. To gain Mature student status, you must also meet BCIT's English-language requirements as well as any prerequisites for your desired program. Please contact BCIT Admissions to discuss your situation further.
